AKI Canada is under the direction of Jean-Rene Leduc Sensei, a long time student of Takeda Yoshinobu Shihan. Jean-Rene began his practice of Aikido in 1980 in Boston under William Gleason Sensei. He moved to Japan in 1987 to further his studies with Takeda Sensei, and with Takeda Sensei's own teacher, the great Yamaguchi Seigo Shihan. In 1992, Jean-Rene relocated to the Kootenay Mountains in Canada where he continues to live and share his unique and beautiful style of Aikido. He currently holds the rank of 5th dan.
