Aikido in Sydney Australia with
Aikido Kenkyukai Sydney
Sydney City Dojo
Great news! We've just moved into our new full-time dojo!
Here at Aikido Kenkyukai Sydney City, we have finally realised a long-held dream of creating our very own dedicated dojo space in the inner city area of Sydney. The new dojo features a sprung floor, over 160m2 of permanently laid tatami mats, lush green plants and loads of natural light. It is a truly beautiful, peaceful and inspiring space to study in, and we look forward to sharing it with you!
Location
You can now find us at 92-120 Cleveland Street, Chippendale, on the corner of Beaumont Street (between the University of Sydney and the University of Technology). Parking is available in nearby side streets and secure bicycle parking is available at the dojo. We are only a short walk away from Central (15 min) and Redfern (5 min) railway stations, plus major bus routes along City Road and Parramatta Road.

The dojo is led by Berin Mackenzie, an Australian instructor who lived and studied intensively in Japan under the great Takeda Yoshinobu Shihan, an 8th dan Aikido master.
We offer a range of morning and evening classes with experienced and passionate instructors for men and women of any age.
No experience is necessary and practitioners of other Aikido styles and martial disciplines are also very welcome!
