NEW VIDEO: Berin Mackenzie at AKI Sydney City’s Blue Mountains Winter Camp

Published on 3 May, 2015

Each year, Aikido Sydney City provides local and international Aikidoka the chance to experience a Japanese-style gasshuku where students live, eat and train intensively together over several days. Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Blue Mountains, indoor and outdoor training in empty-handed and weapons-based Aikido practice is complemented with rejuvenating workshops in shiatsu massage and Japanese oki yoga. This video of our 2013 camp was generously filmed by Mr Peter Sedgewick who, were it not for a broken toe, would have been flying around the mat with the rest of us. Given the result, one thoughtful student has proposed we break his toe every year!

Many thanks to Peter, and to all of the students who came along and made it such a fantastic weekend. This year’s event is just around the corner!
